We are pleased to welcome Jens-Martin as our newest employee at WindTech. With a long career in warehousing and logistics, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. Jens-Martin is already making a huge difference in our own workshop, and through this article, you’ll learn a bit more about Jens-Martin’s journey with WindTech.
Over 30 years of experience in warehousing and logistics
Jens-Martin is 65 years old and lives in Herning with his wife, and their two adult children. In his new role, he brings over 30 years of experience in the warehousing and logistics industry. Jens-Martin’s career has included positions at companies such as Kyocera Unimerco, as well as experience as a freight forwarder, real estate agent, and independent business owner, where he imported food products to Denmark.
Although Jens-Martin is new to the wind turbine industry and doesn’t have extensive technical experience compared to his colleagues at WindTech, his abilities to create order and organize workshop inventories have proven to be a significant strength.
When Jens-Martin is not at work, he is an active sportsman. He has been skiing for over 20 years and was last on the slopes in February this year. In addition, he plays golf with his wife, a sport they both took up last year. Although he now primarily watches football on television, he has played it himself for most of his life.
The path to WindTech’s warehouse
Jens-Martin found his way to WindTech after an extended job search. Despite his lack of technical experience and knowledge of the wind turbine industry, he quickly became a favorite for the position because his skills and abilities in organizing a workshop inventory were exactly what WindTech needed.
If you’ve been following our posts on LinkedIn, you may know that Jens-Martin initially started in a temporary position, where the entire focus was on cleaning and organizing our old inventory of components. If you want to learn more about this project you can read more about from our LinkedIn posts here: Start of the project, project progression and the finished project.
Since then, Jens-Martin has been hired permanently to fulfill the warehouse and logistics role at our workshop in Herning. Jens-Martin adds that his initial impression of WindTech was positive, and he quickly noticed the happy colleagues and the orderly and clean atmosphere that prevails in the workshop — especially after Jens-Martin took the lead in organizing the old inventory.
The new job brings new responsibilities
As a warehouse and logistics employee, Jens-Martin handles a number of important tasks. He ensures efficient receipt and inspection of goods, maintains accurate inventory levels, and organizes the warehouse to maximize efficiency. Jens-Martin is also responsible for purchasing and ordering materials, as well as optimizing warehouse and logistics processes.
He has already started considering areas for improvement and optimization in his new position in goods receiving. These are suggestions he looks forward to implementing with his colleagues.
WindTech as a workplace
Jens-Martin quickly noticed the positive work environment at WindTech. He especially appreciates the happy and friendly colleagues who make the workplace atmosphere pleasant and collaboration effective.
Although he has not yet participated in the staff association’s events, he looks forward to being part of summer parties, Christmas dinners, go-karting, bowling, and much more. Jens-Martin also greatly values the flexible working hours, which allow him to balance work with his private life. He adds that WindTech is a workplace that accommodates everyone—both young and senior employees—and he appreciates the opportunity to demonstrate his skills, regardless of age.
